Should I be embarrassed or am I famous?

I just found this pic on the main Hard Rock website. I can't stop laughing!!! They only posted one picture from Robin's performance, and they chose this one?!? Hilarious. Hey, I obviously enjoyed myself. Here is what the article on the Hard Rock website said:

"The main event, though was Robin Thicke, three time GRAMMY Award winner, multi-platinum recording artist, son of Alan, and all-around crooner of women everywhere. He did not dissappoint. Just check out that lady in the front row. Consider her swooned. Robin delivered the goods last night, bringing his soulful, visual, and amazing production to the thirsty ears of the lucky gathered."

Robin Thicke at the Grand Opening of the Hollywood Hardrock

I have to give some background about how I became such a huge fan of Robin Thicke. I started to really get into his music last January when I was stuck trying to sleep on the Lazy Boy because of my shoulder surgery. I spent countless sleepless nights with his playlist on my ipod. I have truly never really been a very big fan of any singer before. In fact I usually get sick of an album or song after just a few times hearing it, especially once I buy it and the novelty of trying to find it on the radio wears off. I couldn't believe that I never tired of his music. He really is so talented! He has several different sounds and his lyrics really hit home with me, especially his first 3 albums. So I bought tickets to his April concert with Alicia Keys in LA. As we were driving down we heard he cancelled his show because his wife gave birth to their baby boy nearly 2 months early. I had never been so disappointed about something like that and I couldn't get it out of my head how bad I wanted to go see him perform. So for 7 months I have been checking his blog and the internet for a local show. He hasn't done any public shows in this area that the public could buy tickets to. I found out there was an exclusive, private, red carpet VIP only concert for the opening of the HardRock Cafe. I had to go! I won't shame myself by admitting how many people I called and emailed that had some connection to the event trying to figure out how to get in. Every one told me there was NO way and that it was by invitation only. I wouldn't give up, so a few weeks before the show I talked and emailed a sponsoring foundations coordinator. 2 nights before the show this sweet woman called me back to tell me she could put us on the VIP guest list. I don't think this lady will ever realize how happy she made me!
Todd and I walked the red carpet pretending to fulfill our "VIP" status.
Before the show started Robin was just hanging out in the lounge. I mustered the courage to approach him. I had come so far I couldn't not go for the gold, right? I can't possibly remember all the idiotic rambling I did, but I remember telling him how nice his teeth were. How dorky am I? I told him how bummed we were to miss his concert back in April. Todd snapped a photo after probably a full minute of conversation I couldn't be held responsible for.

I made friends with one of the media photographers so he sent his professional photos to me, continuing the lucky streak!
My husband was such a good sport. He watched me lose my mind and still wanted to take me home that night!
Yes, that is the back of my head, Does it get any closer than this?
After all the fuss out on the red carpet they moved the show inside, I parked it as close to the front stage as you could get. This put him singing right in front of me, it was as if it was my own personal concert. What an incredible night, the most exciting ever! How all this worked out and I got that lucky I will never know. I will also NEVER no matter how much a Robin's concert ticket costs, be able to duplicate or come anywhere near how amazing this was. What must it feel like to be famous and know there is obsessed little fans out there blogging about you and calling it "the most thrilling night of their life" just because that crazy fan met you and enjoyed your performance????

Concert

(above) Robin holding my hands while singing, AHHHHH!

This is how close I was, right in front my knees touching the stage

Below, I shouted the answer to one of his questions so he pointed and looked right at me to tell me "YES". What a night! Sorry about how wordy this post is but I figured without some type of description I would sound insane and no one would understand what a big deal this was to me!

traithlon

2 years ago I attempted a triathlon and crashed on my bike in the rain and hurt too much to continue. It always bothered me that I didn't finish it so Todd and I signed up to do that same race last weekend. It was so much fun! I have always only done running races and I will be honest, they are mostly boring. This was a different race all together that I got to do with Todd which is probably a big part of why I had so much fun. Todd even wore a green "womens" cap so he could swim in my heat.

Disneyland trip

My Tinkerbell and Cinderella. We haven't been to disneyland since I was pregnant with Wes, so I think it was still pretty special for the girls.
Papa and Wes. We are constantly hearing that Wes looks like my Dad.
