Bloody bean Karma

Okay, here is a funny story (well, I think so) since it turned out okay, but it did freak me out at first. The other day Jane was eating lima beans. After five minutes or so I heard her snorting and sneezing while making all these weird noises. I looked over at her and she had her finger way up her nose and there was blood all over her upper lip and finger. I wondered if she had something up her nose. I looked and saw nothing. I squeezed her nose and felt nothing. So I figured she gave herself a bloody nose from shoving her finger up there too far. But she kept making those noises and her eye was watering and a little red and puffy. So I started to panic because I remembered the following story:
When Katie was 3 and I was 10, I shared a room with her. Late one night after being sent to bed Katie was asking for a snack, so I went and found some raisins. Everyone knows how fun it is to make a 3 year old laugh, and I was no exception. I found that if I pretended to feed her nose instead of her mouth that she would laugh hysterically! Well, one of those raisins got sucked up her nose after a laughing fit. I tried to get it out, but was not successful. Katie had started to get upset so I took her down to my parents. They too weren't able to get it out. They worried and worried until they took her to the ER. Luckily at the ER she sneezed and the raisin shot out!!! I sure felt horrible about sending her into the hospital. I have never heard the end of it either. In fact it spawned a few family jokes and a poem about "A girl named Rose who stuck a bean up her nose, Oh that poor little girl named Rose. When she tried to get it out it went further up her snout, Rose wanted that bean out of her nose, she tried with a vacuum hose"... and so on until all these items got stuck in her nose. This has really been a family joke for quite some time. Well it got better with the continuation of my story about Jane.
Then I realized I had one of those baby bulb syringes that aspirate their noses and mucous. So I used it on Jane. After literally 100 tries a bloody lima bean revealed itself at the base of her nose. A few more sucks and it was out. SO GROSS. I know, but know I think it is pretty funny. KIDS!

That is so funny! Jane is a little adventerous thing isn't she he. I love her curly hair. Who did she get that from? I tried to leave a comment below but it said you had to approve them or something. I was saying how cute Jane's outfit was and how her and Gracie have a lot of the same clothes. I feel so good that I have the same sense of style as you Laura Brems Layton! ha! ha!
