Over the weekend Todd had his best pals from college come stay for a long golf weekend... I went to my folks house to avoid what turns into a house full of boys watching football and not showering. Todd always enjoys these guys trips, so I thought I would post a picture if any of you knew some of these friends of his.

Now, on to the really big day we had. I just dropped Jane off at her first day of preschool. She goes from 9-2, so I actually was shocked to find myself in the situation where I have to pack a kids lunch for school. Jane was so excited to carry her lunch in her new princess lunch box that her uncle Jared bought her. I suddenly find myself with some extra time to post this blog.

7 years with my sweetie

We just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. The above pic is from our engagement. We had no idea what was to come, but it has been better than I could have imagined. Next hurdle, is baby number 3 coming October 23rd. Thanks for all the great things in my life Darling!

For any of you locals, we went out to dinner at a place called Inn of the Seventh Ray. In my opinion it is a must go to place, the food was indescribably good and the setting is very romantic. We wanted to check it out because it's been on two of my favorite shows (the Bachelor and 24).

Little Stinkers

I have to tell you a little bit about a fun collection I have. I have lots of makeup. I have 3 gallon sized ziploc bags full under my sink that I can't throw away, but I never use. Then there is my PRIZED smaller collection which I use almost every day and I keep out on the counter. I have never had a problem spending money on makeup because no matter how you change, you can always improve your looks with makeup, what could be bad about that. So, The below pictures are of Jane and her friend Sophie. Audrey (Sophie's Mom and MY friend) and I let the girls go play up in Jane's room. They snuck out and got my makeup. I was not happy to say the least.
By the look of the below pic, which kid looks innocent and which one looks a bit too devilish.

Now, the result of this day was quite unfortunate. I learned a lesson about blogging. It is not worth rewarding kids and laughing while taking a picture because they think its funny too and they will do it again. So three days later Jane did it again and really made a mess while wasting much too much of my precious makeup. I won't tell you how long she was in time out because it would make me sound like a really bad mom, but lets just say she won't forget it.

Which reminds me... product recommendation: Cover girl just came out with lip stain markers. AWESOME!

Much needed reunion

My best friends name since I was 12 or 13 is Andrea. She lives out in Atlanta and has a daughter the exact age as Jane. I figured if I was ever going to get out to visit I had to do it before baby number 3 came. We spent a wonderful long weekend and enjoyed every minute of it!!!
These girls were so much fun to see together. We have dreams of them being friends even longer than we have. Hey, they've known each other since birth pretty much.
Now I apologize as much for myself as I do for my friend Andrea, but because I am in a very non photogenic mood during pregnancies we never got a picture of the 2 of us during the trip. So I dug out some oldies... all from college, but still worth a laugh.

Till next time!

Have you ever met your twin? ha ha

Sorry to bring this picture back into play, but I have a reason...
We went down to Newport Beach last week. While there we noticed someone who looked a lot like Todd.
Just in case it was the guy above, which I was pretty sure it was, I called out his name. We were with Todd's sister Betsy and she followed up the situation and got him to pose for a couple pictures. He was with a friend who also was floored by how much the two of them looked alike. We probably thought is was a lot funnier than Todd and this guy.
When Jane saw the pictures she even said "Mommy, why is there two daddy's?"

Layton Family Reunion

We went to the Kaysville parade
One of the many great things about the Layton family is thier family reunions. We have them every 2 years. It's also nice because some of Todd's family hasn't even met Sadie, and we missed them tons! We drove out to Farmington, Utah. This was our first trip in a car with the kids. It was tough at times, but worth it. Betsy was in charge this year and she did a great job. The only downside for me was when we went to a buzz game for the 4th because Jane chipped her front tooth. I can't say there has been too many things Jane has done that has upset me as much. Outside of that the Fireworks at a Buzz, or is it Beez, game were great. You just have to hang out for 12 innings till one in the morning with your kids. Good thing for slushies, popcorn, cotton candy and peanuts.

This is from the night of camping. I gave up putting clothes on the kid because she gets too dirty

This picture above is also one of my favorites. It reminds me that Jane isn't always out to torture her sister.

She's on her own

My parents talked me into letting Jane go with them down to Boulder, UT to go visit my grandparents. Jane gets really close to them when they live here in California over the winters. They left on Thursday and will be back tonight (Monday). As hard as it has been not seeing Jane all this time, I think Sadie is feeling pretty good. She gets all the attention without Jane torturing her! So, here are some pictures of Sadie that made me smile.

This one is my favorite. Almost everytime she recognizes someone coming in the room she runs up to them with her arms out and a big smile on her face. There couldn't be a more warm welcome.

For those who haven't heard!

You are looking at 2 bum cheeks on the left side and a perfect little boy part on the right. We are so happy! How perfect. Now Todd has been busy thinking about "his boy's" name. Will you please all set him straight on the name Oscar. It happens to be his favorite.
I certainly hope this is no indication of his future behavior but in the above picture you can see a head and then an arm above it. And Yes, I think he has his middle finger up. Should I be worried?

The foam block pit was her favorite. My favorite was the cute little wedgie she had.

Gymnastics

We put Jane in gymnastics last week. There is too much crazy energy in her, so we wanted to give her an outlet where she could wear a really cute leotard!
