Not for weak stomachs

A little recap. Pregnant for 9 months, birth on oct 23, fall and break collarbone Nov 3rd, surgery jan14th.

This has been a tough time for me. Apparently when I broke it the bone never healed because I tore ligaments holding it to the shoulder blade. This caused the bone to migrate WAY higher than the piece of bone it broke off from so it was up there floating around and tearing up my shoulder. I could tell something wasn't right even though the ER doctor told me there was nothing I could do, that it would heal on it's own if I wore a sling (obviously he was wrong). So I went to 4 different orthopedic surgeons, can you believe one told me I didn't need surgery? None of them could do surgery until January. So I had to suffer through this for too long. The below pictures I took the night before surgery. As I look at them I am so relieved I had it fixed, I mean look at it, its grotesque, freaky, and sick!

I will post pictures of the new improved version of my shoulder when the strips come off. Sorry to have put you through this but I wanted to document it for my own sake. Someday I will have this blog printed into a book. Has any one done that or know a good place to have do it?

OK you're right, it IS pretty gross. But just think how lovely your new and improved shoulder will look! Sorry about the scar not allowing you to wear tube tops anymore... maybe you can donate your vast collection to DI. ;o)

My blog book comes from Blurb.com. I just did '09's and for 168 pages, it was about $55...

Sorry you've had to go through so much. It is indeed pretty gnarly!

What an idiot that surgeon must have been to say you didn't need surgery. I'm glad you've had it fixed for your sake!!! Just looking at it you know it's not normal and you shouldn't have to deal with that the rest of your life!!! Also, I can't believe you've had a newborn thru all this, you are one tough chick!
