One armed paper hanger

On tuesday night I was heading out my parents front door. Sadie followed me and ran straight out into the street while a car was coming. It was only 11 days after my C-section, but my mommy instincts kicked in and I ran for her full speed. The car saw Sadie and stopped, so she was okay, but my body was unable to keep up with my intentions. I fell on the driveway and broke my collar bone. I went to the ER and had a CATscan and Xrays.
I spent the next few days at my parents since I obviously couldn't do much of anything. My Grandma kept teasing me that I was like a one armed wall paper hanger. Apparently that was a common phrase in her day, I had never heard it but it sure describes how I feel. I must say that it is times like these where I feel loved and blessed by friends and family in a way that brings me to tears. I am so lucky to have Todd be the man that he is. I keep asking how one could ever show their parents how thankful they are for what they do for them. I will never come close! I am now recovering on a new lazy boy counting my blessings and watching everyone else change poopy diapers.

I'd be happy to change diapers and/or do your hair. I can even apply mascara.

Glad you have a comfy spot to relax and lots of people to take care of you. Those mommy instincts are incredible, aren't they?

Oh my gosh Laura! I'm so sorry! You poor thing. I heard that kind of break is a painful one. I hope you recover well. I think my biggest fear is to have a child run out in the street. Take Care!

Laura, I can't believe your luck 11days after your c-section! I am glad Sadie is safe and one day she will know you broke your collar bone to save her life. ;) Get well!

I feel SO bad for you Laura!! That looks SO painful!!I'm happy that Sadie was OK though. I can imagine how good you're being taken care of with that AWESOME family of yours! Love the cute pics of Jane in her Cinderella costume. Michael's coming to dinner today and when I told the kids, Gracie asked if Jane was coming too. She sure misses her!!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery!!!! Keep us updated.

Eeesh! Broken collar bone plus recent c-section. Not fun for you. How long does it take to heal? I hope you get feeling better. That mommy instinct is pretty darn strong.
